Open a terminal and type (case sensitive)
gconf-editor
In the tree navigate to
apps->nautilus->preferences
Check "always use location entry" in the right hand side pane.
If for whatever reason gconf-editor is not installed, at the terminal type
sudo apt-get install gconf-editor
Then enter you password. You will not see it as you enter it. This is normal

install nvidia driver
Attempting to install nvidia driver into simones computer but get the message cant find the kernel source tree
get this error message
Unable to find the kernel source tree for currently running kernel. Please make sure you have installed the kernel source files for you kernel and that they are properly configured;
